This year, we are holding the 4th annual Richmond PRIDE walk on Saturday July 25th at 11am on Steveston Boardwalk (Bayview & No.1 Rd). 🌈 💕
The event is family-friendly, accessible, and pets are welcome to join.

Safe Summer Driving and Camping Information
It's that time of year again when the sun is out, and we are all are going in to nature to enjoy the best of British Columbia! Before you go, ensure to check road conditions, ensure to pack sun-smart, and be conscious of fire regulations and safety precautions.
On hot days, ensure to pack plenty of water, sunscreen, hats, and protective clothing. B.C. Secures Landmark Agreement to Power Decades of Jobs, Prosperity and Growth
I am grateful for the agreement in terms of good jobs, support for workers and families, and the critical infrastructure programs. The ban on tanker traffic on BC’s North Coast and Hecate Strait is vitally important to preserve the unique and pristine natural environment.
I am not in favour of a pipeline. I also understand the province cannot block one imposed on us by the federal government.
“This agreement is about building B.C.’s future – not just for this year, but for generations to come. It means more good jobs for workers and more opportunities to train for better pay, all while protecting the beautiful places that make our province so remarkable,” said Premier Eby. “I want to thank the Prime Minister for recognizing the key role B.C. is playing in building a stronger, more independent Canada.”

Targeting Repeat Property Crime
Retail theft, vandalism and street disorder have real impacts on businesses and communities throughout British Columbia.
We announced a $16 million dollar investment to expand the Chronic Property Offending Intervention Initiative provincewide.
Building on successful pilot projects the program targets repeat offenders responsible for a disproportionate amount of property crime and street disorder through enhances supervision, coordinated enforcement and targeted interventions.
We're building on what works to help keep communities throughout B.C. safe, strong and vibrant.

Free Smart Thermostats for BC Hydro Customers
Starting today, BC Hydro customers can register to receive free smart thermostats and be notified when the program launches this fall, making it easier than ever to access energy-saving technology.
The free smart thermostat program is part of Power Smart 2.0, BC Hydro’s $1-billion investment over three years to help customers reduce energy use, lower electricity bills and support a cleaner energy future.
Smart thermostats help customers better manage their home heating, improve comfort and convenience, and reduce electricity consumption through more efficient temperature control.

Funding Local governments to Speed Up Delivery of Homes
Fifty-six local governments will receive funding to fast-track development approvals and accelerate the delivery of homes, which includes a $200,000 grant for Richmond.
“Our focus from the start has been on helping people across B.C. find housing that fits their needs and budgets. That can look very different in different communities,” said Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. “With the Local Government Development Approvals Program, local governments can improve their internal processes and development approvals, so that we can speed up the delivery of homes for people living and working in B.C.”
