Support Local This Holiday Season!

Did you know that for every dollar spent at a local business, 66 cents stays in the local economy? Conversely, when we buy from big corporations that drops to 11 cents.
This holiday season, choose B.C. made gifts and experiences!
Thanks to the Steveston Merchants Society, I had a wonderful night at Girls Night Out. This shopping experience was a wonderful way to connect to other Richmond residents, and support local.

If any small business in Richmond-Steveston would like one of our shop local signs, please get in touch and we will drop one off to your business. Email your request to: Kelly.Greene.MLA@leg.bc.ca.

Sanmon Gate Official Opening at the Steveston Buddhist Temple

I was honoured to be invited to the San Mon Gate ribbon cutting ceremony by Rev. Grant Ikuta at the Steveston Buddhist Temple.
The San Mon gate (山門), translated as “Mountain Gate”, is a symbol of entering a place of worship and reflection. Rev. Ikuta describes that the San Mon gate is to honour the past, present and future.
The Steveston Buddhist Temple has been a important presence in our community since 1929.

Use Caution, be Safe on the South and Central Coasts this Week
People traveling across the province should drive with caution as BC faces multiple weather warnings. British Columbia will be hit with a series of atmospheric rivers impacting the Pacific Northwest and increasing flood risk.
A flood warning has been issued for Fraser Valley communities and lower Fraser River tributaries and the Sumas River. A Flood Warning means river levels HAVE exceeded riverbanks or will exceed them soon. Flooding of nearby areas will happen.
Additionally, British Columbians should prepare for hazardous travel along the mountain passes as they face copious amounts of snowfall. People should be aware, have a plan and take steps to prepare for potential impacts.
